Roborough Parish Council Web Site

Welcome to the web site of Roborough Parish Council

Roborough Parish Council serves the rural parish of Roborough, situated administratively in Torridge District , Devon, and topographically on the culm measure plateau between the Torridge and Taw Rivers. The parish covers an area of 1258 hectares and contains a population of some 258 parishioners. It is centred on a modest hill top village, which is surrounded by a pastoral landscape of rectangular fields, high hedges and scattered farmsteads.

The Council meets six times a year on the second Tuesday of every other month, and this web site will contain its Agendas, Minutes and Notices. The site will not restrict itself solely to Parish Council matters, but will also host announcements and information of interest to the parishioners of Roborough.

We are currently revamping the parish website. The aim of the current Parish Council is that this should be a Parish website, not a Council website. With this in mind we would invite the following :- Any advertising from local employers in the parish. Any features from organisations within the parish Any advance notifications from organisations within the parish. We will also introduce a page for sale or wanted for items you may wish to dispose of or want. There will be no charge at present for these services. Please contact me Dave Tindall 01805603509 or davetindall@myway.com

On Tuesday 22nd November Roborough's residents gathered at the New Inn to celebrate over 24 years service to the parish. Allan Bissett was appointed Clerk to the Parish Council in May 1987, since which time he has been an invaluable support, and source of advice, to successive councils. Allan was presented with an engraved Crystal Bowl and a similarly engraved Lager Glass, a framed Aerial Photograph of Roborough Village and a Bottle of Port. The New Inn did us proud and a pleasant evening was had by all.
